Since the successful launch of dynamic structured snippets for AdWords search ads, search marketers have been begging to be able to create their own customized structured snippets for their ads. Well, the wait is over, search marketers: AdWords has finally answered your prayers, and have launched their new structured snippet extensions for search ads!
Structured snippet extensions are advertiser-provided structured bits of information that can now show in your text ads. As ad extensions typically boost ad performance and Ad Rank, it’s a no-brainer to get these implemented in your accounts to provide additional information for your users. Best of all, setting them up is easy. Here’s what you do:
-
Select a predefined ‘Header’ (such as ‘Styles’ if you sell footwear, or ‘Amenities’ if you’re a hotel business, for example).
-
Enter your values – (such as ‘Heels’ or ‘Free WiFi’. These are totally customizable—enter what you want to advertise about your business).
-
Select your device preference.
-
Save, and you’re ready to go!
Structured snippet extensions are currently only available in English, and will be rolling out in the coming weeks.
